A game of Ladders and Snakes
How bad do you think 2020 was? Pretty bad! We can all agree on that one. The path to 2021 was a rocky one. A bit like a game of ladders and snakes. Ain’t that true. And now we see that 2021 isn’t going to shape up too well either.
The is a cartoon I used for the local papers in the Yarra Valley, near Melbourne, Victoria. I’ve been drawing the weekly cartoon for years now. This past year has been a bit tough on all of us. A lot of regional newspapers shut down due to the virus. They are gone now.
I kept busy drawing. I mean I have been training for a lockdown all my life. No, seriously, it was a shit show and it seems to continue. I feels like we’re climb up a ladder and slide straight down again. For us it’s like going from lockdown to lockdown.
The whole thing is up and down. It has been all year long. Up a ladder and straight back. I hope it will be better for this year. What hope do we have? The infections overseas are huge. If this is an indication of where we are heading, it certainly doesn’t head up a ladder.
