Lorenzo and Marquez hurt in MotoGP

Here we go. Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez are hurt just before we are heading into the last few rounds of the 2015 MotoGP season and the fly-away rounds of Japan, Australia and Malaysia. These are the top riders for this years championship. It looks good for Valentino Rossi who is leading the table at the moment.

However, never underestimate the grittiness of one like Lorenzo or Marquez. They are on top of their game and they will grit their teeth and race on. The doctors will pump them full of drugs and send them on their merry way. With any luck they get some points or if best one might even win. This is going to be a hell of a ride for them.

But what are their injuries? Jorge has a sprained shoulder that he got during a minibike race. His left shoulder got broken before and this time he was lucky not to break it again. He will be able to race but not without any pain. Marc on the other hand has a broken hand. It had to be operated on and the surgeons inserted a bunch of screws and a plate to hold it all together. Again, he should be fine to race in a few days time.

We also have a Swiss rider down and out from a race incident at the last round. Dominique Ägerter got taken out in the first lap and played for a while in the gutter. The race got suspended and to everyones surprise he got cleared of any injuries. He was able to restart the race a bit later on. It was revealed that he had three broken vertebras and a bruised lung. We, as mere mortals, would not walk after an incident like that. they are super humans.

Well, I hope they all recover quickly and are riding again. Dominique will be replaced for the remaining part of the season by an Australian rider, Josh Hook.

That’s it for now. I hope you can join me again in a weeks time for more antics from the MotoGP paddock.

Danny
