Would you have thought that Rossi will win this race? I didn’t. Not that I don’t think he can’t win anymore, more so that Marquez is pretty damn good. But this morning it was down to the tyre choice they made. Although it looked like Marc is having an early checkout, it wasn’t to be.
Rossi closed a gap of over four seconds and with two laps to go they changed position a couple of times and at the end Marc was down and out. His front wheel touched the rear of Rossi at the transition into the left hander. There was nothing either could have done. Both of them didn’t want to give in. Marc knew his tyres were about to give up. But would it have been enough to hold Valentino off for another 1.5 laps? we’ll never know.
So Marc Marquez went down and Valentino Rossi won. Then I thought of this cartoon. Rossi had other plans with Marquez early checkout. It’s never fun to see someone crash. But the way I know these guys, they never give up. Next round is in Spain and I reckon Marc will be on top again. Will he serve a bit of a revenge attack on Rossi? We’ll see in a fortnight.
Also it’s great to see the Ducati on the podium again. Cal Crutchlow managed to snatch fourth in the last corner from Iannone. Our Aussie racer Jack Miller managed to get 12th. This is his best result in MotoGP and his first victory in the open class category. He seems to get better and better every race.
Well, that’s all for now. See you next week or at another post.
